Fatal Mervo High School Shooting: What We Know

A student has been fatally shot in the head in a parking lot of a Baltimore High School as the first week of school comes to a close, authorities say.

The victim was shot in the head after a heated argument around 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2 in the parking lot of Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School, confirm Baltimore Police.

Baltimore City Public Schools issued a statement confirming that there was an "incident" during dismissal, and that after school activities have been cancelled.

The suspect is reportedly in custody. Circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently unclear. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, as well as school officials and police are currently on the scene of the incident.
